Joy and Belonging as a Ramblers Walk In Winter Ambassador

I'm thrilled to have been invited back by the Ramblers to be an Ambassador for their Walk In Winter campaign after their very successful and uplifting Feel More summer campaign earlier this year.

At a time when the world feels confusing and topsy turvy to say the least, many of us have found nature to be such a comfort - soothing our souls, lifting our spirits and clearing our heads as our bodies appreciate moving, stretching and easing the tensions.

I was honoured to be part of the summer Feel More campaign and to be invited back is such a privilege. I have written a post for the Ramblers about how walking has helped my mental and physical wellbeing in recent years going through the menopause, becoming an empty nester and how it connects me with my childhood joys walking in Yorkshire with my family. You can read it here.

The Ramblers are Britain's walking charity, protecting and expanding the places we love to walk, campaigning for our walking rights, maintaining footpaths and encouraging everyone to get out into nature.

Membership of the charity gives you all sorts of benefits: a community of walking groups, an amazing app to plot your routes, great ideas for walking routes and a membership pack full of fantastic information, plus 15% discount at Cotswold. Members also receive the wonderful Walk 4 times a year which is a beautiful and uplifting magazine, including walks, groups, inspiring people, great kit reviews, super photography and recommendations for books, podcasts and films. It was a joy to see my friend Liv Bolton's The Outdoors Fix recommended too!

To find out more about the campaign you can follow #walkinwinter on social media and on the Ramblers website. I will be sharing my own walks and joys on Instagram and Twitter, where you can find me at @healthyhappy50. Please do share your own winter walks - I'd love to know where you go that brings YOU joy and lifts your spirits. Jo x
